Where Have I Been?

No where really.

I am still here.

Just not much happening. I have been spending most of my time crocheting now that it is full on winter. So that relates into doing more of my blogging over at my sister site Skrappy Skarves. I have been doing at least 3 posts a week over there. Wednesdays are for posting works in progress, I started a Throw Back Thursdays using crochet posts from this blog, and on Fridays I post about any projects that I might have finished that week.  So if you want to keep up with me you can head on over there if crochet talk does not bore you too much. 😀

I don’t go out much because it is cold. I have no yard or gardening things to do.

I have done a bit of snow shoveling.

I do go out once a day to check on Milly the Shed cat. I make sure her food is full and her water is not frozen. I remove the ice if it is and give her fresh water.

It has been unseasonably warm for the last week and a half so that has made Christmas Shopping more enjoyable.

I also have been staying cozy in bed watching dvds I have been borrowing from the library. I have been watching Arrow. I had borrowed Season Four two weeks ago but did not finish it. I could not continue on after they were going to bring a character back to life that had been dead and buried for I think at least 3 months. I feel it is hard to tell how much time has passed sometimes in a series from one season to the next let alone from episode to episode. I really think my problem with bringing this character back to life is I didn’t really care for her and was not too upset by her passing. They brought another character back using the same procedure after she had died but I liked that character. I don’t even think she was actually dead yet, she had been on life support in a hospital when they flew her to the place to be “cured”. I guess depending how long the flight was, if she was dead it was at least less than a day but not much more than that. So I thought I would take a break from Arrow.

I have also been watching The Flash as it is a spin-off/crossover from Arrow. I think I am actually enjoying it more than Arrow. I am glad that I am watching them both at the same time because of this so when The Flash mentions someone or something from/about Arrow I am not totally in the dark. It is also good that I have watched more seasons of Arrow for the same reason. I just finished Season Two of The Flash. I will probably borrow Season 3 of The Flash after the Holidays. I will also give Season 4 of Arrow another try. Now that I have cooled down about the bringing a certain character back. I also went to IMDb to read how the season played out, there was a lot more exciting things going on later in the season that I would actually care about. Yes, another character is brought back from the dead, but I liked him and his rebirth seems plausible. I know these are all based on comic books from back in the day, so people were always dying off and coming back in some fantastical way. I just feel some of them make more sense to me then others.

I was finally able to borrow the 3rd Season of Outlander. This is such an awesome series based on the book series of the same name by Diana Gabaldon. I have only read one book in the series, “A Breath of Snow and Ashes” it was the sixth book at the time I read it. Her books are not short either each one is around a thousand pages or more. So I was glad to get into the tv series from the start. When you read the sixth book in the series first you really don’t feel like going back to the beginning book, well at least I didn’t. Besides she gave enough background and flashback type scenes I didn’t feel I really needed to go back.

I also borrowed the first season of Ash vs. Evil Dead. I liked it. It teamed Bruce Campbell with Lucy Lawless again. It also stayed true to the movies.

I have also thrown a few movies into the mix of dvd watching. Some newer titles and some older ones. The newer titles included Spiderman- Homecoming, Black Panther, Ready Player One, Kong: Skull Island and The Avengers: Infinity Wars. The older titles included Die Hard 4 film collection,  The Flight of the Phoenix, Aliens and Cowboys, and How The West Was Won.

I am hoping that the library will be starting their Adult Winter Reading Program after the holidays. I will then be doing more reading than crocheting. I want to continue reading a series I started on my kindle app. It is by Jeffery Archer. I also may read a few books in the Lincoln Rhyme Series by Jeffery Deaver.

Well for not much going on I sure have blabbered on for quite a while. 😀

Update for an August 17, 2016 Post for Two Shades of Pink Small Wallet

Today’s Featured Ebay Item

is this cute little pink wallet.  Which is No Longer Available For Sale. Explaination below.

It holds folded bills in one pocket and credit cards in the other. Or all bills or all cards whatever you fancy.

I used this pattern CASH N CARDS CASE (c) WALLET By: Suzetta Williams from Suzie’s Stuff

If you would like to see  my Ebay Items just click on the Ebay link in My Blog Roll.

I thank you and happy shopping!😀

This item is no longer for sale. I was checking out all my patterns  designer links when I came to her blog for this pattern she had this on a side bar:

My life long fiber addiction started as a child in Southern California. Yarn isn’t my only craft just my favorite. All patterns posted on this blog are copyright protected by Suzetta Williams. Please respect the copyright. Just because they are posted here for free does not mean you can post them in whole or part else where. Do not offer items made from these patterns for sale without asking permission.  Permission for online sales will not be granted.

I removed her email address in the above. I don’t recall seeing this when I went to her blog for this pattern back in May of this year. She is only the second designer that I have come across that does not want you to sell items made using her patterns. Most designers just want you to make sure you link back to where you got the pattern you used to crochet your item.  I can understand not selling the patterns, but not the items made from them. I guess you can sell them  at craft fairs, your physical store if you have one, or your yard sale, if  you contact her for permission. You absolutely can not sell them online. Permission will not be granted.

She has a link to an Etsy shop so I checked it out. She sold 3 crochet books and currently has no other listings. She has been on Etsy since 2008 which is also when this pattern was published on her blog. Her blog is not active either. Her last post was March 2015 the post before that was August 2014. She also has a Ravelry page which is inactive. She post her patterns for free there with links back to her blog. That being said I wonder if her email address is even active?

Did she really think other people selling items from her patterns online would have hurt her Etsy sales if she actually sold her own items. Who knows. I just took this item from sale just to be safe.

Hook Used: G/6 – 4.25 mm
Stitches Used: Single crochet and Single crochet back loop only

My Followers: How Active Are You?

I started going through My Followers List last month and today I finally finished.  I wanted to see how active all of you are. So I visited each one of you  to see when was the last time you posted. I broke the list down into eight different categories.

First up is the Mutual Category with 72 followers. You were placed in this category if we follow each other. Most of you in this category are pretty active and current in your postings.

The next two categories are for the year 2016.

January through June Category has 29 followers. These are the followers that your most recent post falls in this time frame.

July through Current Month Category has 77 followers. These are the followers that your most recent post falls in this time frame. Most of you in this category fall in the current month or last month. A few of these were businesses, Advertisements or Survey “blogs”.

The Inactive Category was for the 21 followers that their most recent post fell in the year 2015.

There were 10 No Link Category followers. These were blogs listed with no clickable link.

Expired Or For Sale Domains had 5 followers.

Four links when clicked took me to a NOTHING FOUND message page.

Finally 3 followers had Protected Blogs. These were blogs that you had to send them a request to become a follower of their blog, so I don’t know how active they are.

If I tally up Mutual followers and both 2016 followers categories,  178  of you are active followers.

Thanks for being my follower and stay active. 😀

Oh, Boo Hoo!

FIRST MY CAMERA DIED, NOW THE LAPTOP!

Yesterday I got up (well of course I got up) went out to the kitchen, turned on the laptop, fed the cat and started the dishes. It was time for a break from the dishes, so I could get my web pages loaded up.

The laptop screen was black, the lights were on but no one was home sorta deal. I thought maybe the battery had totally been used up. The place where the power cord plugs in is a bit touchy so I fiddled with that until the little lightening bolt icon light came on. It stayed on for about 20 minutes then went out again. It didn’t even shut itself off after sitting idle doing nothing. My son tried the windows shut down if you can’t see the screen trick, push the windows button, over to the right arrow button and enter. That did not shut it off either. The fan did kick on and off. My son even tried hooking a monitor to it still nothing. So we just shut it off by pushing the power button.

This did not really surprise me that it finally broke down for good. It has had issues after about two months. We bought it through the local computer store. They had to order it online. They checked it out when it arrived and said it was good to go. First thing it did it would shut down before you even started doing things. Then the finger mouse pad quit working. My daughter mentioned that she had a friend that did computer repairs in his own time. He found that one of the ram cards was fried. He removed it. When we ordered the laptop we wanted 3G of ram so we could play games on it. We could still play games but they were slow and caused the laptop to over heat and shut down. He was unable to fix the finger mouse pad. As I said before the power cord plug-in slot was touchy, you had to have it just in the right spot for it to register and start charging.

The whole point of having ordered it through a local was that I thought they would open it up and make sure everything was still connected and had not been damaged during shipping. If it was they could fix it then and there. That is what they do as a business, fix computers. Well I don’t think they did this at all. I think they just started it up made sure windows ran, could connect to the internet, and called it good. You ask why we didn’t take it back right away? Well if they didn’t get it right the first time they probably wouldn’t this time. And I don’t think there was any warranty and if there was it probably was expired. You know nothing goes wrong until the warranty runs out. 😛

When David got up we told him all about it and what things we had tried. He was going to town so he said he would ask our daughter if we could borrow her laptop until we get the funds together for a new one.

So this is her laptop I am using this morning. I really appreciate her letting us use it. I am not used to it though. On her laptop the finger mousepad actually works. I didn’t mind that ours didn’t work though it saved me not worrying about bumping it when I typed. I just have to make sure to keep my wrists off to the sides. I know that it can be turned off, but this is her laptop and I don’t want to be messing with any of her settings. 🙂

I hope we get a new laptop or desktop within a month or so. It will be fun (not ) going through and remembering how I had my settings set and where to find the places to do them will be my biggest challenge. Oh, about the settings, I am not able to view my likes and comments directly on WordPress because of my daughters settings. I will have to check them through my email, so don’t freak out if I don’t get back to you right away for a while. Lol 😀

I guess I am lucky to even be able to share this with you all.
