I Just Have Not Felt Like It

I have not posted hardly at all this summer. Now we are nearly done with fall heading into winter. I have thought about posting from time to time but now I am soooo far behind that it would be an epic book length post. We are also back to using the library for internet access. Maybe I will get off my duff this week and type out a post for next week’s library visit. Until then here is my 52 birthday pic, which was on the 17th, with my grandson Marty’s emoji headband on. He called it his birthday crown. It is blinking but you can not tell in the photo.

The birthday crown. Oh,Yeah I cut my hair too!

Where Have I Been?

No where really.

I am still here.

Just not much happening. I have been spending most of my time crocheting now that it is full on winter. So that relates into doing more of my blogging over at my sister site Skrappy Skarves. I have been doing at least 3 posts a week over there. Wednesdays are for posting works in progress, I started a Throw Back Thursdays using crochet posts from this blog, and on Fridays I post about any projects that I might have finished that week.  So if you want to keep up with me you can head on over there if crochet talk does not bore you too much. 😀

I don’t go out much because it is cold. I have no yard or gardening things to do.

I have done a bit of snow shoveling.

I do go out once a day to check on Milly the Shed cat. I make sure her food is full and her water is not frozen. I remove the ice if it is and give her fresh water.

It has been unseasonably warm for the last week and a half so that has made Christmas Shopping more enjoyable.

I also have been staying cozy in bed watching dvds I have been borrowing from the library. I have been watching Arrow. I had borrowed Season Four two weeks ago but did not finish it. I could not continue on after they were going to bring a character back to life that had been dead and buried for I think at least 3 months. I feel it is hard to tell how much time has passed sometimes in a series from one season to the next let alone from episode to episode. I really think my problem with bringing this character back to life is I didn’t really care for her and was not too upset by her passing. They brought another character back using the same procedure after she had died but I liked that character. I don’t even think she was actually dead yet, she had been on life support in a hospital when they flew her to the place to be “cured”. I guess depending how long the flight was, if she was dead it was at least less than a day but not much more than that. So I thought I would take a break from Arrow.

I have also been watching The Flash as it is a spin-off/crossover from Arrow. I think I am actually enjoying it more than Arrow. I am glad that I am watching them both at the same time because of this so when The Flash mentions someone or something from/about Arrow I am not totally in the dark. It is also good that I have watched more seasons of Arrow for the same reason. I just finished Season Two of The Flash. I will probably borrow Season 3 of The Flash after the Holidays. I will also give Season 4 of Arrow another try. Now that I have cooled down about the bringing a certain character back. I also went to IMDb to read how the season played out, there was a lot more exciting things going on later in the season that I would actually care about. Yes, another character is brought back from the dead, but I liked him and his rebirth seems plausible. I know these are all based on comic books from back in the day, so people were always dying off and coming back in some fantastical way. I just feel some of them make more sense to me then others.

I was finally able to borrow the 3rd Season of Outlander. This is such an awesome series based on the book series of the same name by Diana Gabaldon. I have only read one book in the series, “A Breath of Snow and Ashes” it was the sixth book at the time I read it. Her books are not short either each one is around a thousand pages or more. So I was glad to get into the tv series from the start. When you read the sixth book in the series first you really don’t feel like going back to the beginning book, well at least I didn’t. Besides she gave enough background and flashback type scenes I didn’t feel I really needed to go back.

I also borrowed the first season of Ash vs. Evil Dead. I liked it. It teamed Bruce Campbell with Lucy Lawless again. It also stayed true to the movies.

I have also thrown a few movies into the mix of dvd watching. Some newer titles and some older ones. The newer titles included Spiderman- Homecoming, Black Panther, Ready Player One, Kong: Skull Island and The Avengers: Infinity Wars. The older titles included Die Hard 4 film collection,  The Flight of the Phoenix, Aliens and Cowboys, and How The West Was Won.

I am hoping that the library will be starting their Adult Winter Reading Program after the holidays. I will then be doing more reading than crocheting. I want to continue reading a series I started on my kindle app. It is by Jeffery Archer. I also may read a few books in the Lincoln Rhyme Series by Jeffery Deaver.

Well for not much going on I sure have blabbered on for quite a while. 😀

Did You Know You Could Post A Photo In Your Comments?

And Here Is How You Do It!

I have been blogging for a little over a year now. While reading other blogs and the comments, once in a great while I come across a comment with a photo in it. I thought that is neat, but how do they do it? I, myself have often wanted to post a photo with my comment. It would help get my point across better. Also with crocheting I could post a photo with my comment to show how I did a pattern. I also find I have photos that would go along with the person’s topic of the post that I would like to share with them, but not want to refer them back to one of my post from the far past just to see the photo. So being able to just share the photo in a comment would be so handy, don’t you think?

I thought about it every now and then, at first I thought maybe it was something you could only do with a premium(paid) account. Then a week or so ago it finally hit me! WordPress assigns every photo you upload to your Media Library an URL. You just need to copy/ paste that URL into your comment!

I gave it ago the other day in two comments I posted. The first one I just posted one URL, it worked! The next comment I wanted to share two photos. So I posted both URL ‘s in the comment. Only one of them showed up as the photo, the other was just a clickable link to the photo. So I guess it is one photo per comment. So now I would like to share with you how to find and post your photos to your future comments. 🙂

Ok, so you are reading a blog and you are going to post a comment. You think to yourself I have a photo that would go great with my comment. First step you do is open up your own blog’s admin/dashboard in another window or tab. On the left side you will see the list for all the various things on your dashboard. You want to go to the Media Library as shown here by the red arrow.

step-4-how-to-photo-commentThat will take you to all your media photos. Find the one you would like to add to your comment. Hover over it with mouse pointer and left click. Oops, do you see the typo in the photo caption above? Hoover lol I should proofread my captions better when I use paintbrush.

This will take you to the photo’s Attachment Details box.

step-9-how-to-photo-comment

step-10-how-to-photo-comment

Now go back to the tab or window that has the blog you want to comment on.

Type in your comment, then right click, this drop-down box will appear.

Hover your mouse pointer over the word Paste then click the right mouse button.

step-11-how-to-photo-comment

The URL will look like this. Then you can click the Post Comment Button. After you have pushed the Post Comment the actual photo should appear, but if the person’s blog post is set to mediate comments, the photo will appear after they approve your comment. Until they do so it will remain the URL link.

And that my friends is all there is to it! I hope you found this post helpful. Now you can photo bomb your comments. 😀

Expired Domain For Pattern Link and Website

UPDATE: SHE IS BACK UP AND RUNNING! YIPPEE!!!

The blog site where I got my Heart graph and Shamrock graph beanie patterns has let her domain expire. The site was MNEcrafts.com. by Amanda Nicole.

I was checking my email for skrappy skarves this morning, a blogger was having trouble accessing the Heart graph beanie pattern link on MNEcrafts.com. I went to skrappy skarves blog and clicked on the link too. You know sometimes it might just be a glitch for the day or something. I also recieved the “This Domain Name Has Expired” message link. This means that the person who had the website did not pay to renew to keep the domain. I had no idea about this. I am sad that she did not chose to renew, But you never know what may be going on in a fellow bloggers personal life and they may have not been able to continue to keep their site open. I do know that she had not posted new things for a very long time. I believe the last posts were in late 2015. So I am not too surprised by this. Her post on her FB page and Ravelry are also this old with no new things. I do hope that she is ok and life just got to busy for her to continue these accounts.

I am sorry for the inconvenince this may cause anyone wanting to use these patterns.
