I called this gold claim “The Chopper Site.” We had taken the wrong fork, David could not back out so we went forward until we came to this area with a chain across the entrance. There were large tanks with hoses attached to them. David unhooked the chain and drove us in to do a U-turn. He then replaced the chain. We had inadvertently pulled in to this landing and refueling site for sight seeing tours for the Grand Canyon. We did not realize that was what it was until later in the afternoon when we saw helicopters landing there. They made pretty regular flights in the mid morning, afternoon, and early evening. There was another smaller landing and refueling site north of this one. We saw about 18 Choppers land between the two sites one evening.

- This is a lilttle bird that was right in front of us not scared at all. Chasing around bugs to eat.

- This is the RARe tribble cactus. Actually David Didier thinks it might be some kind of disease. Saw other ones. it is like the spines go crazy and just grow and grow while the cactus part dries up.
